During the winter months, weather conditions may cause Still Waters to be closed or operate on a reduced schedule. The safety of our guests, caregivers, and staff is our top priority. Please review the following information and keep it where you can refer to it in an emergency.
IMPORTANT: Because the Center does not follow the same schedule or provide the same transportation services as public schools, we do not follow public school announcements of closings or delays.
For updated information, call the Center at 317-284-0837. Information will be available on our voicemail system by 6:30 am is there is a closing or delay that day. As a general rule, we follow these guidelines:
If the City of Indianapolis (Mayor’s Office) declares a Weather WARNING (Red Alert) in effect as of 6:00 am, Still Waters will be closed for the day. Under a Weather WARNING, only emergency personnel may travel.
If the City of Indianapolis (Mayor’s Office) declares a Weather WATCH (Orange Alert) in effect as of 6:00 am, Still Waters will be open on a reduced schedule with limited staffing. Under a Weather WATCH, travel is only permitted for emergency purposes or for essential travel (work, class, groceries). If you are required to travel for essential purposes, Still Waters will make every effort to be open on a reduced schedule from 9 am, to 5 pm. Please call the Center before you leave home to make sure that staff members are on site and the parking area/ entrance is clear.
There is no charge for missed days when the Center is closed or open on a Reduced Schedule. As a courtesy, please inform us of your plans as soon as possible.
Be careful and be safe!
