Where is Still Waters located?

We operate at 2 locations in Indianapolis:

Castleton Center On the campus of Castleton United Methodist Church, 7160 Shadeland Station, Indianapolis, IN 46256 – northeast Indianapolis

Eastgate Center At Eastgate Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 8100 East 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219 – east Indianapolis

What are the days and hours of operation?

Still Waters open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. The Castleton Center is also open 2 Saturdays a month from 8:30 – 4:30

How often do people attend?

Guests may attend either full or half days. One full or 2 half days per week is the minimum attendance required. Regular attendance helps our guests develop familiarity with the program and staff. We do not offer drop-in services.

What does it cost to attend?

  • Deposit*: Varies according to days attended
  • Full Day**: $75 per day
  • Half Day***: $50 per day

*A Deposit equal to four weeks of Fees is due prior to starting

**Full Day Fee is up to 10 hours per day, and includes hot noon meal, plus afternoon snack.

***Half Day Fee is up to 5 hours per day, morning or afternoon. Morning session guests are to be picked up no later than 2:00 pm. Afternoon session guests are to be dropped off no earlier than 10:30 am. A snack is included in the afternoon.

  • There is a $20 charge for late pick up.
  • Additional charges for bathing/shower service, massages, salon services, and Personal Wellness.

Who attends Still Waters Adult Day Center?

Still Waters services predominantly seniors (age 55 and older) who need supervised care due to illness, cognitive impairment, or frailty. We also serve those who could benefit from being around others and who just need a reason to get up in the morning. Those who live alone or spend most of their time alone can greatly benefit from the socialization and stimulation Still Waters provides. Our staff is available to answer your questions and help you decide if Still Waters is the right choice. We encourage caregivers and prospective guests to visit.

What kind of help do you provide for personal needs?

Assistance with walking, standing, and transferring from one seat to another is provided. We also assist with eating, using the bathroom, and bathing. We can also assist with guests and their medications.

Do you provide transportation to and from the Center?

Although we do not offer transportation services, our staff will be happy to help you make transportation arrangements through a third-party company if you are unable to bring your loved one to the Center.

How does the enrollment process work?

We do a brief assessment to make sure adult day services will meet your needs. You may also qualify for financial assistance in paying for care at Still Waters.

Like any organization, Still Waters requires a certain amount of paperwork. A form signed for the guest’s primary care physician is required, as is a current TB test or chest x-ray. We also require completion of an Emergency Contact form, medication authorization (if applicable), and Personal History Form. Payment of the Deposit is required before services begin. Although there is no contract, we ask each family to sign a Service Agreement that spells out our policies in detail. We also require that each guest have a change of clothing which we store at the Center.

What happens if I can’t attend due to illness, travel, or other reason?

We understand that people become sick or otherwise have to cancel. Please contact the Center as soon as possible if you know you won’t be attending. Cancelling service no later than noon of the day before your scheduled day can be done at no cost. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged for the day(s) missed. Please refer to the Service Agreement for more details.

How does payment work?

Statements are sent on the first business of day of the month for the previous month’s charges. We send electronic statements and preferred payment is by pre-authorized direct debit from a checking or savings account. All accounts must be paid in full by the 10th of the month to avoid additional fees. If you are unable or unwilling to pay by pre-authorized direct debit, we require payment by cash or check weekly.

Does insurance cover the cost of care?

Medicare and other forms of health insurance do not cover the cost of adult day services. Long term care insurance, Medicaid Waiver and Indiana’s CHOICE program may pay for care or provide reimbursement for the cost of care. Still Waters also has a Scholarship Program that is partially funded by the Senior Fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation. Our Director will be happy to discuss these options with you.

Do you close for severe weather?

In the event of severe weather, call the Center for up-to-date information.  The voice mail message will be updated by 6:30 am.  In some cases, the Center may open on an abbreviated schedule (2-hour delay). There is no charge if the Center is closed due to severe weather or other emergency.  There is no late cancellation or no show charge if the Center is open on a 2-hour delay. For a full list of weather related policies, please click here.
